What to Expect
I offer an initial phone call for you to ask questions and find out how I may be able to help you. The next step is to book a preliminary session where we will discuss why you’ve come and what you’re hoping for. If you decide to go ahead, I can work with you over a short-term period or longer term.
Short term is more suitable for a specific difficulty you want to work with, longer term can help with exploring more deep-seated patterns, loss or hurt. We can discuss the length of time that feels suitable at an initial meeting and then review this during the work, making sure it is the right support for you.
Sessions are for 50 minutes, usually once a week. Each week, you will have a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to bring things you want to talk about, things that are difficult or confusing. We can explore these and help understand them better and their impact on you. I offer compassion, acceptance and a gentle curiosity, helping you to notice things about yourself and to build greater trust in yourself and in others.
Change can come about through feeling heard and understood as you explore and express your thoughts and feelings. You may notice shifts in ways of thinking, a change in how you understand your emotions, improved ways of coping or closer connections with others. You can find yourself with an increased sense of direction, as well as more ease in life.
